Why it is so important to hire a Virtual PA for a good work/life balance
Hope you have had a great summer and managed to take some time out of your busy schedules.
This summer I was able to take 3 weeks off (even though my business has grown significantly in 2019 and at its busiest ever) and am currently writing this blog sat on the top deck of The Emerald Princess watching a film on the big screen, eating popcorn whilst cruising around the Greek islands and Italy with my family. This was only possible with the help of some of my associate team Katie Clarke, Emma Rowley and Emma Dzenis,
One of my favourite places we have visited so far was Kotor in Montenegro. It’s beautiful there, a definite hidden gem. You anchor in a cove with the sea and mountains either side. We have been blown away by its beauty and anyone who knows me, knows how much I love hiking and mountains and feel at peace whilst doing both. Has anyone been here before and can you relate what a beautiful tranquil place this is ?
Another beautiful place was Mykonos, lots of winding alleys with an abundance of shops and taverns and the most amazing views, plus a local celebrity.... who was it I hear you say? George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Katy Perry, Donald Trump - Nope none of those hehe. It was a huge Pelican in the doorway of a restaurant in Little Venice.
According to google, one landed back in the 1950s and was adopted by a family and he never left and his descendants are still there now.http://www.greece-is.com/the-most-famous-pelican-in-the-world/
Before I took some time out for the summer, I was soooo busy and having given this some thought since being away I have realised that it’s time for me to outsource some more of my personal projects and admin and spend more time working ‘on’ the business and not ‘in’ the business. As my husband said why not practice what I preach to my clients !!
I hear so many stories from clients who say that they work all hours available 6/7 days a week, hardly take time off and certainly haven’t had a holiday since they started their business. They openly tell me they have no time to grow their business and are literally just getting through day to day, week to week.
I knew when I started my business that something I wouldn’t sacrifice was holidays and time with my family and this was important to me to maintain as the business grew. So over the past few years the business has closed down for 2 weeks every summer while I took some time out, but with thanks to the team this year I have been able to remain open for the first time and my clients continue to get the service and support they rely on.
This is a massive testament that outsourcing works and building a reliable trusted team means your business continues to thrive and earn revenue whilst you take time away on vacation. We all need a break and no one can continue building an empire without some time out to recharge and relax.
If you are working all sorts of hours, would love to take on some business support or are on the cusp but have no idea what to outsource or how many hours you need. Let’s chat.
Some clients tell me if I have to spend time training someone, I may as well do it myself. My answer simply is ‘you may have to train us initially but think of the long term picture, ‘For Example... if you spend 2 hours training us rather that doing that weekly 2 hour admin task then that will return you 104 hours (or ~3 weeks) over the next year’ so you can see how the benefits quickly multiply, and with our help you are then able to spend time working ‘ON’ your business doing what you love or maybe time for yourself or a vacation ?
We do offer a variety of different packages that suit all budgets. So we don’t have to cost the earth, you may only need a few hours support a week... easily affordable for any size business.
